What a blast! The editor of The Wedding Cake, Mikael Moiner, won the prize for “Best Editing Award” at the lovely Noto International Film Festival, Sicily. The statuette is on its way, both Mikael and I will show it with pride as soon as received!

The ceremony can be watched on Facebook at this link, the part that involves us starts at around 8:24, and both Mikael and I are proud about the motivation of the jury (which included stellar film experts, among them Steve Della Casa): “An extraordinary visual and audio montage made of frequent cuts and flash images that gives body and expressive quality to the voiceover story, offering a luminous film version of a desperate life.” The president of the jury, Liotta, also mentioned the high quality and the technical maturity of this work.
